Day 6 - Jesus died so that we can have eternal life
Jesus died for us so that, whether we are alive or have died when He returns, we will live together with Him. His death on the cross opened heaven to everyone who trusts in Him, and that life with Him begins now and lasts for ever.
Day 5 - Jesus died so that we might be born again
Jesus replied, “Very truly I tell you, no one can see the kingdom of God unless they are born again.” He explains that one must be born of water and the Spirit to enter the kingdom of God. To be born again is to be spiritually reborn.
Day 4 - Jesus died so that we might be forgiven
For by grace you have been saved through faith. It is the gift of God, not of works, so that no one can boast. Through Jesus Christ, we are saved and made right with God. Only by His grace can we be saved and experience eternal life.
Day 3 - Jesus died so that He might ransom people
Jesus said, “The Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.” Jesus taught us that serving others is the greatest act of love and sacrifice. He gave His life that others might have salvation. Through His example, He gave us a blueprint of how to serve and how to be a servant leader.
Day 2 - Jesus died to destroy captivity
Jesus declared that God had anointed him to bring good news to the afflicted. He said that God had sent him to proclaim freedom for captives, to give sight to the blind, and to free those oppressed by injustice. He promised that the year of the Lord’s favor had arrived.
Day 1 - Jesus died to become the mediator of the New Covenant
God desires all people to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth. Through Jesus’ death and resurrection, He made it possible for us to be reconciled to God, no matter who we are. The Lord offers salvation to everyone who calls on Him. We are encouraged to intercede for all people, so that God's will is done and everyone can come to repentance.
Day 21: The More Empowered Life
Our 21 days end on our knees with Paul, asking for power in the inner being and praising the God who can do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine.
Day 20: Lakes or Rivers
A lake holds what it receives. A river passes it on. On Day 20 we look at Ezekiel’s river and at Jesus’ promise of living water, and ask the Spirit to flow through us.
Day 19: The Breath of The Spirit
On the evening of the first Easter Day, Jesus came through locked doors, spoke peace and breathed on His disciples. On Day 19 we receive His peace and His sending.
Day 18: Dying to Multiply
A seed that is kept safe stays alone. A seed that falls into the ground produces a harvest. On Day 18 Jesus explains His own death, and the pattern it sets for everyone who follows Him.
Day 17: Your Astounding Potential
One verse in 2 Timothy describes four generations of believers. On Day 17 we see how far a single faithful life can reach when what we have received is passed on.
Day 16: Make or Build?
Jesus said that He will build His church, and He told us to make disciples. On Day 16 we look at whose job is whose, and why the gates of hell cannot stop what Jesus is building.
Day 15: Multiply and Conquer
The risen Jesus has all authority, and He uses it to send His people. On Day 15 we hear the Great Commission again and ask how a church grows by making disciples who make disciples.
Day 14: Using Both Hands
Nehemiah’s builders worked with one hand and held a weapon in the other. On Day 14 we learn to pray and to work, to build and to stand guard, without dropping either.
Day 13: Prayer Open Doors
Paul was in chains, and he asked for an open door for the gospel, not for his own release. On Day 13 we devote ourselves to prayer and ask God to open doors that nobody can shut.
Day 12: GPS (God’s Positioning Spirit)
God has not left His children to find their own way. On Day 12 we learn how the Holy Spirit leads us, and why His voice is often heard when the church is worshipping and fasting.
Day 11: Expecting the Supernatural
Paul did not rely on clever words. His message came with a demonstration of the Spirit’s power. On Day 11 we ask God to do what only He can do, so that faith rests on Him.
Day 10: Sitting High
Where you sit changes what you see. On Day 10 we learn that God has raised us up with Christ and seated us with Him, and that we pray from His victory and not towards it.
Day 9: Fire on Your Head
At Pentecost the fire of God rested on each believer in the room, not on a chosen few. On Day 9 we look at what happened that morning and ask the Holy Spirit to fill us in the same way.
Day 8: The Final Promise
The last thing Jesus said before He ascended was a promise: you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you. On Day 8 we see what that power is for, and that the promise is still open.
