Discovering the Power of God's Promises
In a world filled with challenges and uncertainties, there's an incredible assurance we can hold onto—God's unbreakable promise, known as the New Covenant. This divine agreement is a beacon of hope, a wellspring of grace, and a pathway to lasting freedom and joy. Today, let's delve into the significance of the New Covenant and how it can transform your life, filling you with encouragement and purpose.
Understanding the New Covenant
The term "New Covenant" might sound like theological jargon, but it holds profound meaning and relevance for our everyday lives. It's not just a religious concept; it's a lifeline to God's infinite love and mercy. The New Covenant is God's promise to us, established through Jesus Christ, offering us a new way of relating to Him not based on our efforts or merits, but on His grace and truth.
Under the Old Covenant, people were bound by the law, striving to earn God's favour through their deeds. It was a system that highlighted human limitations and the impossibility of attaining perfection on our own. But the New Covenant changes everything. It's based on better promises, promises of forgiveness, renewal, and an intimate relationship with God.
The Gift of Grace
One of the most beautiful aspects of the New Covenant is grace. Grace is God's unmerited favour; it's His love reaching out to us even when we don't deserve it. It's a gift that we can't earn or achieve by our own strength. Grace empowers us to live victoriously, not by striving harder, but by resting in what Jesus has already accomplished.
Imagine a life where you don't have to constantly prove yourself, where you're not weighed down by the fear of failure or rejection. That's the life grace offers a life where you are fully accepted, loved, and cherished by God. When you embrace this truth, you can let go of guilt and shame, knowing that you're covered by God's boundless love.
A Relationship, Not Religion
The New Covenant invites us into a relationship with God, not a religion filled with rituals and regulations. It's about knowing God personally, experiencing His presence daily, and walking in His wisdom and guidance. This relationship is dynamic and alive, not static or distant. It's a journey of discovering more about God's heart and His plans for you.
In this relationship, prayer becomes a conversation, not a chore. Worship becomes a heartfelt expression, not a routine. Serving others becomes a joy, not an obligation. When you understand that God delights in you and desires to spend time with you, your faith journey becomes an exciting adventure rather than a burdensome task.
Freedom from Sin's Power
One of the most powerful promises of the New Covenant is freedom from the dominion of sin. We all have our struggles and shortcomings, but the good news is that we don't have to be bound by them. Through the New Covenant, Jesus has broken the chains of sin and set us free. This doesn't mean we're perfect or never make mistakes, but it means that sin no longer has the final say over our lives.
You are not defined by your past mistakes or failures. You are a new creation in Christ. The old has gone, and the new has come! This freedom allows you to walk in righteousness, peace, and joy. It empowers you to live with confidence, knowing that God is for you and not against you.
The Power of God's Promises
The New Covenant is packed with promises that cover every area of our lives. These promises are not empty words; they are guaranteed by God's faithfulness. He promises to be with us, to guide us, to strengthen us, and to provide for us. He promises peace that surpasses all understanding, joy that is unspeakable, and love that never fails.
When we hold onto these promises, we can face any situation with hope and courage. We can overcome fear, doubt, and despair because we know that God's word is true. His promises are an anchor for our souls, keeping us steady and secure no matter what storms we may encounter.
Living in the Fulness of the New Covenant
Living in the fulness of the New Covenant means embracing a lifestyle of trust and surrender. It's about believing that God has your best interest at heart and that His plans for you are good. It's about letting go of control and allowing Him to lead you on the path of righteousness.
This journey is not always easy, but it's always worth it. There will be moments of challenge and testing, but these are opportunities to deepen your faith and grow in your relationship with God. Remember, you are not walking this journey alone. The Holy Spirit is your constant companion, your comforter, and your guide.
An Encouraging Word
As you start this journey of exploring the New Covenant, be encouraged that God's love for you is unchanging and everlasting. He knows your name, your story, and your struggles. He is intimately involved in every detail of your life, and He is working all things together for your good.
You are not a mistake, and your life is not an accident. God has a purpose and a plan for you, one that is filled with hope and a future. No matter where you are right now, God's arms are wide open, ready to receive you and shower you with His love.
Ending with Prayer
Let’s end this time together with a prayer, lifting our hearts to God and embracing the promises of the New Covenant:
Heavenly Father,
Thank You for the incredible gift of the New Covenant. Thank You for Your grace that covers all our sins and for the freedom we have in Christ. We are so grateful for the relationship we have with You, not based on our performance, but on Your unchanging love.
Lord, help us to walk in the fulness of Your promises, trusting in Your faithfulness. Strengthen our faith, and remind us daily of the freedom we have from sin's power. We surrender our lives to You, knowing that Your plans are good and Your love for us is infinite.
Guide us, Holy Spirit, in every step we take. Fill us with Your peace, joy, and love. May we be a reflection of Your grace to those around us, sharing the hope and truth of the New Covenant. We commit ourselves to You, Lord, and we ask that You continue to transform us from the inside out.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
May this exploration of the New Covenant encourage and inspire you to live a life filled with God's love, grace, and truth. As you walk in the light of His promises, may you experience the abundant life He has promised. Remember, you are deeply loved and fully accepted by God. Embrace this truth and let it transform every aspect of your life.
Does God Exist? Exploring Four Powerful Arguments
Discover the compelling arguments for the existence of God, including Creation, Design, Moral Law, and Being. Explore insights from leading theologians, philosophers, and scientists. Join us for a thoughtful journey into faith and reason, and find an invitation to a deeper relationship with God.
Introduction: The Quest for God's Existence
In the quest to understand the existence of God, several powerful arguments have been proposed. This article explores four key arguments: the Creation Argument, the Design Argument, the Moral Law Argument, and the Ontological Argument. Each of these presents a unique perspective on the age-old question, "Does God exist?"
Does God Exist?
The question of God's existence has fascinated humanity for centuries. It touches on our deepest thoughts, our understanding of the universe, and our place within it. There are four classical arguments that are often presented to demonstrate the existence of God: the Argument from Creation, the Argument from Design, the Argument from Moral Law, and the Argument from Being. Though these names might sound technical, they can be understood more simply as the arguments from the universe, purpose, morality, and existence. Let's explore each of these in turn, providing a comprehensive look at the reasoning behind each.
The Creation Argument
The Argument from Creation suggests that because the universe exists, it must have been caused by something beyond itself. This argument is rooted in the principle of causality, which states that every finite thing is caused by something other than itself. This can be understood in two forms: the universe needed a cause at its beginning, and it needs a cause to continue existing.
The Universe Had a Beginning
The idea that the universe had a beginning is supported both scientifically and philosophically. Science provides strong evidence through the Big Bang theory, which suggests that the universe came into existence in a sudden and dramatic event. The second law of thermodynamics, which states that the universe is running out of usable energy, also supports the idea that the universe had a starting point. If the universe were eternal, it would have run out of energy by now.
Philosophically, it is impossible to traverse an infinite series of past moments to arrive at today. If the past were infinite, we could never reach the present moment. Therefore, time must have had a beginning, indicating that the universe also had a starting point.
In summary, the universe's beginning suggests the existence of an initial cause, which many identify as God.
The Design Argument
The Argument from Design, or the Teleological Argument, posits that the order and purpose observed in the universe point to an intelligent designer. The complexity and functionality of the world around us cannot be the product of random chance.
Evidence of Design
Consider the intricate structures of living organisms, the precise laws of physics, and the fine-tuning of the universe that allows life to exist. These aspects suggest a purposeful design. For instance, the specific conditions necessary for life on Earth are so precise that it seems unlikely they occurred by accident. The balance of forces, the properties of elements, and the exact conditions required for life all point to a designer who planned these conditions intentionally.
This argument leads to the conclusion that the design observed in the universe is best explained by the existence of a designer, which we call God.
The Moral Law Argument
The Argument from Moral Law suggests that the existence of objective moral values points to a moral lawgiver. This argument is based on the observation that certain moral principles are universally acknowledged, such as the wrongness of murder and the goodness of compassion.
Objective Morality
If there is no God, moral values would be subjective and based on personal or societal preferences. However, the existence of universal moral principles suggests that these values are grounded in something beyond human opinion. This grounding must be in a moral lawgiver who transcends humanity and whose nature defines what is good and evil.
The recognition of objective moral values supports the existence of God, who is the source of this moral order.
The Ontological Argument
The Argument from Being, or the Ontological Argument, is a bit more abstract. It suggests that the very concept of God implies His existence. This argument begins with the idea that God is a being than which nothing greater can be conceived.
The Necessity of God's Existence
If we can conceive of the greatest possible being, this being must exist in reality, because existence is a necessary attribute of the greatest conceivable being. A being that exists only in the mind is not as great as a being that exists in both the mind and reality. Therefore, the greatest conceivable being, which is God, must exist.
Conclusion: Reflecting on God's Existence
Each of these arguments - from Creation, Design, Moral Law, and Being - presents a unique perspective on the existence of God. Together, they form a compelling case for a creator and sustainer of the universe, a designer with purpose, a moral lawgiver, and a necessary being.
The universe's existence and beginning point to a cause beyond itself. The intricate design and order of the universe suggest an intelligent designer. The existence of objective moral values indicates a moral lawgiver. And the very concept of God implies His existence. These arguments, though distinct, converge on the conclusion that God exists.
Exploring these arguments helps us understand the rational basis for belief in God. They show that belief in God is not merely a matter of faith but is supported by reason and evidence. This understanding can strengthen our faith and provide us with the confidence to share it with others.
As we reflect on these arguments, let us remember the words of the Apostle Paul: "For since the creation of the world God's invisible qualities - His eternal power and divine nature - have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse" (Romans 1:20). Indeed, the existence of God is evident in the world around us, inviting us to seek Him and know Him more deeply.
Invitation to Salvation
Understanding and believing in the existence of God is the first step towards a deeper relationship with Him. God, in His infinite love and mercy, has provided a way for us to be reconciled to Him through His Son, Jesus Christ. Jesus lived a sinless life, died on the cross for our sins, and rose from the dead, offering us the gift of eternal life.
If you have come to believe in God's existence and feel a stirring in your heart to know Him personally, you can take that step today. God invites you to enter into a relationship with Him through Jesus Christ. All you need to do is confess your sins, ask for His forgiveness, and invite Him into your life as your Lord and Saviour.
If you are ready to make this commitment, please join me in this prayer:
"Dear God,
I acknowledge that I am a sinner, and I need Your forgiveness.
I believe that Jesus Christ, Your Son, died for my sins and rose from the dead.
I turn away from my sins and invite You into my heart and life.
I want to trust and follow Jesus as my Lord and Saviour.
Thank You for saving me and giving me eternal life.
In Jesus' name, I pray. Amen."
If you have prayed this prayer sincerely, you have begun a new life in Christ. Welcome to the family of God! You may be wondering what's next on your journey. We want to help! Join us as we guide you toward the next steps in your walk with Christ worship and fellowship.
May God bless you as you continue your journey with Him.

Where Are You... Really?
Sunday 21 July 2024
On Day 21 of our Daily Devotion for Men of Honour, we reflect on God's question to Adam, "Where art thou?" (Genesis 3:9). This devotion encourages men to honestly assess their responsibilities and positions in life, fostering true worship and meaningful connections.
Where Are You... Really?
Sunday 21 July 2024
Good morning, ANCC Men of Honour! As we start another blessed day, let's reflect on a profound question from the Bible, "Where art thou?” (Genesis 3:9). God asked Adam this not because He didn't know Adam's location but because He wanted Adam to acknowledge his own position and state of being.
Brothers, it's crucial to know where you are in your life. Are you acknowledging your responsibilities as a husband, a father, or a community member? Or are you avoiding these duties, pretending to be something you're not? It's easy to lose track and live a life out of alignment with our true responsibilities.
Take a moment to be honest with yourself about where you are. When we hide from our truths, we end up living a charade, wearing masks that keep us from genuine connection with God and others. Admitting our flaws and failures to ourselves and to God is the first step towards true worship and meaningful relationships.
Don't spend your energy envying others or questioning their paths, such thoughts only lead to isolation and bitterness. Instead, ask yourself, "Where am I at?" This question is not one of judgment but of reflection, leading to repentance, closeness with others, and genuine satisfaction in life.
Let us pray:
Heavenly Father, guide us today to face ourselves honestly. Help us to see where we truly stand and lead us in the path of righteousness for Your name's sake. May we live our lives openly and sincerely, embracing our roles and responsibilities with courage and integrity. In Jesus' name, Amen.
Moving the Heart of God
Saturday 20 July 2024
In today’s devotion, we learn from Joshua 23:5 about moving the heart of God. It's not about showcasing our achievements, but about approaching God with humility and true reliance. Embrace spiritual success by acknowledging God as the source of all blessings.
Moving the Heart of God
Saturday 20 July 2024
Good morning, Men of Honour! Let's welcome another blessed day with hearts ready to connect deeply with God.
In Joshua 23:5, we learn about God's promise to drive out our enemies and give us the land He promised. But in order to truly tap into this, we need to understand how to move God's heart. It's not about showcasing our achievements or presenting ourselves with brilliance; it's about humility and real reliance on God.
Remember, spiritual success is achieved when we set aside our ego and pride. Instead of presenting ourselves as self-made men, we should acknowledge that everything we have comes from God. Abel, unlike Cain, understood this. He didn't boast about his sacrifices; he acknowledged that it was God who provided everything.
Today, let’s challenge ourselves to look in the mirror and say, “It’s not about me, God. It’s about You.” Let's commit to praising God not for what we want Him to do for us, but for who He is. When we do this, we're not only moving His heart but also aligning ourselves with His divine plan.
Let us pray:
Heavenly Father, guide us to approach You with hearts full of humility and dependence. Help us to lay down our pride and self-sufficiency, embracing Your strength and provision. Teach us to trust You completely, knowing that You are the source of all good things. May our lives reflect Your love and grace. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Giving God What He Truly Desires
Friday 19 July 2024
Good morning, ANCC Men of Honour! Today, let's delve into Genesis 4:4–5 and understand why God favoured Abel's offering over Cain's. Learn the importance of offering our hearts in humility and devotion, and how embodying genuine compassion can strengthen our relationships.
Giving God What He Truly Desires
Friday 19 July 2024
Good morning, ANCC Men of Honour! Welcome to a fresh day where we have the opportunity to offer something of true value to God.
Today, let's take a look at Genesis 4:4–5, where we see how God reacted differently to the offerings from Abel and Cain. God favoured Abel's offering because it was just what He wanted – a sincere display of devotion and humility.
In our society today, the image of being a strong and unemotional superhero like Superman is not as admired as it once was. Instead, what really improves our relationships is being understanding, caring, and open. Our families value these qualities the most: our presence, love, and willingness to show our true selves.
Many of us have witnessed or experienced the 'strong, silent' type in our fathers, often leaving emotional gaps in their relationships. The call for us today is to be different to replace any form of masculinity with genuine compassion and availability.
God isn't looking for grand gestures, impressive resumes, or external displays of piety. He desires our hearts, humble and full of praise, ready to give not just to Him but also to those around us. By giving God what He truly desires, we find ourselves better equipped to give our loved ones what they need most.
Let us pray:
Heavenly Father, guide us this day to present You with our hearts as our offering—open, loving, and committed to Your praise. Help us to embody the warmth and affection that our families need from us, and let our lives reflect Your love and compassion. Amen.
The Way We Come Into Blessings
Thursday 18 July 2024
Good morning, Men of Honour from All Nations Community Church! As we welcome another blessed day, let’s delve into how receiving God’s blessings requires active participation in spiritual warfare. True blessings are fought for and won in the spirit realm before they manifest in our lives. Embrace the challenge of faith with courage and commitment through prayer and worship.
The Way We Come Into Blessings
Thursday 18 July 2024
Good morning, Men of Honour! As we welcome another blessed day, let's remember that receiving God’s blessings isn’t as simple as waiting for Santa Claus to drop gifts by the fireplace. Unlike fairy tales, blessings from God don't just fall into our laps.
Our spiritual journey is akin to a form of warfare, not fought with physical weapons but against the spiritual adversaries that challenge our souls. This battle is very real and requires our active participation.
It's easy to become complacent in our spiritual lives, mistaking physical or mental activity for spiritual engagement. However, true blessings are fought for and won in the spirit realm before they manifest in our lives. We must desire these blessings deeply enough to earnestly fight for them through prayer and praise.
While I've seen many embrace this challenge with open hearts, it’s often more difficult for men to express their spiritual battles through praise and worship. However, the power of God’s Spirit is undeniable, and engaging with this power can transform our lives. Remember, the act of humbling ourselves and engaging in true worship is essential to overcoming spiritual obstacles and claiming the blessings we seek.
Let us be prepared to fight spiritually for what we desire, embracing the challenges of faith with the courage and commitment they require.
Let us pray:
Heavenly Father, empower us today to actively engage in the spiritual warfare necessary to claim Your blessings. Help us to put aside any reluctance and pride, and to fully embrace the power of praise and worship. May we be strong in spirit and steadfast in our faith, fighting for the blessings You have promised us. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Claim Your Promised Land Today
Wednesday 17 July 2024
Good morning, ANCC Men of Honour! Are you ready to claim your 'Promised Land'? Today's devotion from Joshua 1:6 encourages us to seize God's promises in our lives. Let’s conquer the blessings He has prepared for us together!
Claim Your Promised Land Today
Wednesday 17 July 2024
Good morning, ANCC Men of Honour! Welcome to a new day where opportunities to claim your own 'Promised Land' await. Joshua 1:6 encourages us to seize the territory God has prepared for us, not just in the future, but right here and right now.
Are you living in your 'Promised Land'? Sometimes, we might feel like we're waiting for a distant future to embrace God's blessings. However, the Bible teaches us that the Promised Land is not a far-off dream to be realised in heaven, but a reality meant to be conquered in our lifetime.
The Israelites faced real challenges from the Canaanites and others who occupied their Promised Land. They had to fight to claim what God had promised them. Similarly, there might be obstacles in your path—someone else might have the job, home, or position you feel led to pursue. Yet, remember, God has placed you where you are for a purpose. It's your task to manifest His power and greatness in your 'Promised Land'.
You're not alone in this journey. Just as the Israelites crossed into their land with their families and tribes, you are part of the ANCC Men of Honour, surrounded by brothers who support you. Today, take a moment to reflect on the promises God has for you and your family in the Scriptures. These promises are meant for now, not just for the future.
Let’s target and conquer a portion of our Promised Land today. Claim what God has prepared for you and move forward with the confidence that He is with you every step of the way.
Let us pray:
Heavenly Father, thank You for leading us to our Promised Land and for the victories You've laid before us. Help us to recognise Your blessings in our daily lives and give us the strength to claim the territories You have destined for us. Guide us in unity and faith as we move forward together. In Jesus' name, Amen.
You Have Been Favoured by God
Tuesday 16 July 2024
Good morning, ANCC Men of Honour! Today's devotion reminds us of God's favour in our lives, countering Satan's lies with the truth of our divine blessings. Let's pray and acknowledge His hand in our successes.
You Have Been Favoured by God
Tuesday 16 July 2024
Good morning, ANCC Men of Honour! As we step into this new day, let’s start with a heartfelt reminder.
The enemy, Satan, would have you believe that you are without purpose, power, or potential. He wants to convince you that your achievements are your own and God had no hand in them. Worse still, he tries to demoralize you by reminding you of past failures, broken promises, and unfulfilled dreams. He tries various tactics – your background, your mistakes, and the times you've felt down and out.
Yet, the truth stands firm and clear: the favour of God is upon you. Despite what Satan might whisper, your every success, big or small, is not your doing alone. It’s the Lord’s presence in your life that has granted you the strength, wisdom, and ability to achieve. Without Him, the simplest tasks would be impossible, let alone raising a family or contributing meaningfully at work.
Often, we are unaware that others might envy the divine favour we carry. They act against us, not out of spite, but jealousy, seeing in us the blessings we often overlook in ourselves.
Today, reject ignorance of your divine blessings. Recognize and praise God for His unwavering favour in your life.
Let us pray:
Heavenly Father, we thank You for Your immense favour and blessings. Help us to see ourselves as You see us: favoured, capable, and blessed beyond measure. Teach us to rely not on our strength but on Yours, and to acknowledge Your hand in every success. May we walk in Your favour and extend it to others. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Freedom from Oppression
Monday 15 July 2024
Good morning, ANCC Men of Honour! Today’s devotion focuses on breaking free from oppression through the power and liberation that Jesus Christ offers. Join us as we support each other in finding freedom and walking in victory and hope.
Freedom from Oppression
Monday 15 July 2024
Good morning, ANCC Men of Honour! Welcome to a new day where we gather strength from God and each other.
Acts 10:38 tells us that Jesus came to heal all who were oppressed by the devil. This includes every one of us, facing various battles and burdens. Many have come from places of hardship, carrying stories of oppression that span generations. This shared experience connects us, yet it can also trap us in cycles of control and anger if we let it.
However, it's important to remember that oppression doesn't define us. We often feel cornered by circumstances or overwhelmed by the demands of daily life. Yet, through Christ, we have the power to change our situation. Whether it's a toxic habit, a tough environment, or an inner battle with despair, Jesus offers us a way out. He came to set us free, and when the Son frees you, you are free indeed (John 8:36).
Today, embrace the liberation that Jesus provides. Change begins with accepting His healing and stepping into the freedom He offers. Let's support each other in breaking free from what holds us back, finding new paths to walk in victory and hope.
Let us pray:
Heavenly Father, thank You for this new day to gather as Men of Honour. Lord, You know the struggles each of us faces. Help us to recognize the oppression in our lives and give us the courage to break free from it. We ask for Your strength to make changes that lead to freedom and peace. May we support each other in this journey, always relying on the liberty that comes from Your Son, Jesus Christ. Amen.
Rising Above Dysfunction
Sunday 14 July 2024
On Day 14, we delve into the story of Cain and Abel, reflecting on how we can overcome inherited dysfunctions and embrace a life of grace, love, and proactive kindness through the transformative power of faith.
Rising Above Dysfunction
Sunday 14 July 2024
Good morning, ANCC Men of Honour, and welcome to another blessed Sunday. Today, let's reflect on overcoming the challenges that life throws our way, especially those stemming from our backgrounds.
In Genesis 4:8, we encounter the first recorded conflict, an alarming moment between Cain and Abel that marked the beginning of family dysfunction. Yet, this ancient story serves as a potent reminder that having a troubled past is not a valid excuse for wrongdoing or failure in our lives. We all inherit some form of dysfunction, yet, like our ancestors Adam and Eve, we have the capacity to rise above it.
We live in a world where hatred and envy can escalate to extremes, even leading to violence, mirroring the hatred Cain harboured towards Abel. Despite such negativity, it is within our power to adopt a different mindset.
Today, choose not to harbour prejudice, anger, or bitterness. Do not let a legacy of dysfunction dictate your actions. Instead, embrace a life shaped by the grace and love of Christ. This functional faith empowers us to replace a 'get him before he gets me' attitude with one of generosity and proactive kindness.
As you face today's challenges, remember that you are not defined by past dysfunctions but by the decisions you make now, rooted in faith and love.
Let us pray:
Heavenly Father, we thank You for this new day and the opportunities it brings. Help us, Lord, to rise above our inherited dysfunctions and to live lives that reflect Your grace and love. Strengthen us to make choices that are not based on past hurts but on the healing and transformative power of Your Spirit. In Jesus' name, Amen.
The Power of His Name
Saturday 13 July 2024
Good morning, ANCC Men of Honour! Today, we delve into the power found in the name of Jesus through the story of Peter and John in Acts 3. Learn how to focus wholeheartedly on Jesus amidst life's trials and to put faith into action by helping others.
The Power of His Name
Saturday 13 July 2024
Good morning, ANCC Men of Honour! As we celebrate another day, let us draw close to the power found only in the name of Jesus.
In Acts 3, Peter and John encounter a lame man at the temple. Peter, determined not to let the man's focus waver, instructs him to look intently at them. This story isn't just about the miraculous healing that follows but about focusing wholeheartedly on Jesus amidst our trials and tribulations.
Peter calls upon the name of Jesus—a name above all names, the only name that promises more than temporary relief but eternal salvation. It's a name that stands above every challenge, need, or pain we may face.
Just as Peter did, we are called not only to speak the name of Jesus but to put our faith into action. This means reaching out to help others stand, whether spiritually, emotionally, or physically. When we encounter someone in need, it's our faith, propelled by the name of Jesus, that enables us to assist them effectively.
If today finds you needing assistance, remember to place your trust not in man but in Jesus Christ. He is your strength and your healer, the One who will make you whole.
Let us pray:
Heavenly Father, thank You for the power and authority granted through Your name. Help us today to focus solely on You, to speak Your name boldly, and to act courageously as You guide us to those who need Your touch. Strengthen us to be instruments of Your healing and love. In Jesus' name, Amen.
Discovering Your True Identity
Friday, 12 July 2024
On Day 12 of our Daily Devotion for Men of Honour, we delve into Genesis 32, where Jacob's transformative encounter with God reveals our true identity beyond past mistakes. Embrace the truth of being more than conquerors and chosen by God. Join us at All Nations Community Church in this journey of discovering who you truly are.
Discovering Your True Identity
Friday, 12 July 2024
Good morning, ANCC Men of Honour! Welcome to another blessed day where we can seek God’s guidance and truth.
In Genesis 32, Jacob wrestled with God, which revealed a profound truth: we are not defined by the labels others give us. Throughout his life, Jacob was called a deceiver or a trickster, and this affected how he viewed himself and lived. However, in a transformative moment alone with God, Jacob learned that he was not merely the labels imposed on him; he was Israel, a prince with God.
This story powerfully reminds us that our true identity is not tied to past mistakes or the negative names people might call us. God sees beyond our past to what we can become in Him. He sees us as more than conquerors (Romans 8:37), chosen people and a royal priesthood (1 Peter 2:9).
Today, let’s ask God to reveal to us who we truly are. He knows us completely and loves us unconditionally. May we find our identity in Him and live as the men of honour, He calls us to be.
Let us pray:
Heavenly Father, thank You for this new day to discover more about You and the identity You have for us. Help us to see ourselves through Your eyes, as men of honour and purpose. Teach us to reject the negative voices and embrace the truth of Your Word. Guide us to live out the destiny You have set for us. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
The Importance of a Father’s Blessing
Thursday, 11 July 2024
Explore the transformative power of a father’s blessing in today's devotion for Men of Honour. As illustrated in Genesis 48, the blessings passed down from father to son shape identities and destinies. Reflect on your role in affirming and empowering the next generation.
The Importance of a Father’s Blessing
Thursday, 11 July 2024
Good morning, ANCC Men of Honour! As we welcome another day granted by God, let us reflect on the significant role of fatherly blessings in shaping identities, as illustrated in Genesis 48.
The story of Jacob blessing his grandsons on his deathbed is powerful. It illustrates how identity and purpose have been traditionally passed down from father to son, shaping the lives of many generations. The blessing is not just a ritual; it is a declaration of destiny and character directly from a father’s heart to his child.
Unfortunately, many men today go through life without this precious inheritance. They end up searching for their identity in places and with people who are far from what God intended. Whether it’s giving in to the appeal of gangs or other negative influences, the lack of a father’s blessing creates a void.
It’s never too late to seek or contribute this blessing. Welcome the power you hold to affirm and empower the next generation with the truth of who they are in Christ. You are more than conquerors, mighty men of valour, sons of the Most High, destined for greatness. Let’s ensure we pass on this glorious heritage.
Let us pray:
Heavenly Father, thank You for the men gathered on this WhatsApp group, champions in Your kingdom. Lord, guide us to affirm and bless our sons and brothers in Christ, imparting to them their true identity as Your beloved. Strengthen us to be pillars of wisdom and love, mirroring Your heart to those in need of fatherly love. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Walking in Whose Likeness?
Wednesday, 10 July 2024
Good morning, Men of Honour! Today, let’s reflect on how we can be more like our Heavenly Father instead of following the mistakes of our earthly families. In Genesis 5:3, we see Adam's likeness in Seth, stained by sin. This inherited sin is common throughout generations, but as believers, we are transformed through Christ to reflect the holiness of our Eternal Father. Let's break the cycle and adopt our new identity in Him.
Walking in Whose Likeness?
Wednesday, 10 July 2024
Good morning, Men of Honour, and welcome to another blessed day! Today, let us think about how we can be more like our Heavenly Father instead of just following our earthly family's mistakes.
In Genesis 5:3, we see a cycle begin with Adam fathering Seth in his own likeness, a likeness stained by sin. This cycle of inheriting sin and shortcomings from our fathers is a common theme throughout generations. For example, Abraham lied out of fear, and his son Isaac did the same later on. Scripture shows us that our natural tendency is to follow our earthly father's example, for better or for worse.
However, as believers, we are no longer bound to this earthly pattern. Galatians 4:7 reminds us that through Jesus Christ, we are God's sons and heirs, transformed to reflect the image of our Eternal Father. We are called to break the cycle of sin and adopt a new identity in Christ, one that mirrors the holiness and purity of God Himself.
Let us be intentional today to follow our Heavenly Father’s example, growing more like Him every day.
Let us pray:
Heavenly Father, thank You for adopting us as Your sons through Jesus Christ. Help us to shed the old patterns of sin that we have inherited and to walk in Your holy and righteous ways. Strengthen us to be men who not only seek Your face but also reflect Your grace and truth in our lives. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Standing Against Destruction
Tuesday, 9 July 2024
Welcome, Men of Honour, to a new day of challenge and opportunity. In the words of Job 14:1-2, our life on Earth is short and often filled with challenges, yet each moment offers the potential for change and transformation.
In today's society, men face significant challenges. However, amid these struggles, there is a profound truth: while the devil aims to destroy, God is in the business of restoration and forgiveness. He forgives the unforgivable, heals the broken, and restores the lost. God calls us men to rise above the chaos and embody His strength and mercy. Let's commit to being fathers, brothers, and sons who nurture rather than neglect, who build up rather than tear down.
Let us pray:
Heavenly Father, thank You for Your boundless mercy and forgiveness. Equip us to stand strong against the forces that seek to destroy. Help us to be beacons of Your love and light in this world. Strengthen us to choose Your ways each day, to heal rather than hurt, to unite rather than divide. In Jesus' name, Amen.
Stepping into Your Divine Purpose
Monday, 8 July 2024
Good morning, ANCC Men of Honour! Welcome to this blessed Monday. As we reflect on yesterday's water baptism, let us draw inspiration from Matthew 3:17 (NIV), where Jesus embraced His divine mission. Just as Jesus entered these waters purposefully, those baptised last week stepped into a renewed commitment to God's purpose. Let this powerful imagery remind us of the divine affirmation and guidance we receive when we are in the right place, as ordained by God. Join us in prayer and reflection as we walk in faith and obedience.
Stepping into Your Divine Purpose
Monday, 8 July 2024
Good morning, ANCC Men of Honour! Welcome to this blessed Monday. As we reflect on last week’s water baptism, let us draw inspiration from Matthew 3:17 (NIV), which recounts the baptism of Jesus by John the Baptist. This profound event was a pivotal moment where Jesus embraced His divine mission, and the Bible says, "And a voice from heaven said, “This is my Son, whom I love; with Him I am well pleased.”
Just as Jesus entered these waters purposefully, those of you who were baptised yesterday followed in His footsteps. You didn't just step into water; you stepped into a renewed commitment to God’s purpose for your life. When Jesus stood in the Jordan, it was the exact place God wanted Him. The heavens opened, the Spirit descended, and God’s voice affirmed His identity and mission.
This powerful imagery reminds us that being in the right place, as ordained by God, brings divine affirmation and guidance.
Let us pray:
Heavenly Father, thank You for the sacred act of baptism and the powerful example of Your Son, Jesus. As we reflect on our commitment and the steps taken in baptism, guide us into the paths You have prepared for us. May our lives always be pleasing to You, as we walk in faith and obedience. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Expecting the Right Things
Sunday, 7 July 2024
Good morning, ANCC Men of Honour! Welcome to a new day filled with God's promises and potential. Today, let's reflect on an important question: What are your expectations when you attend church?
We may often find ourselves attending church for routine reasons, maybe to maintain a social image or satisfy family expectations. Are we just spectators in church, there to enjoy the music or a sermon? Or are we there expecting to encounter God, to hear His voice and be transformed? However, Jesus challenges us to look deeper, just as He questioned the crowd about their reasons for seeking out John the Baptist (Matthew 11:7-15).
Yesterday, we examined the story of the lame man in Acts 3. He went to the Beautiful Gate to ask for donations but received healing instead. He anticipated little and was prepared to settle for less, yet God had a grander plan in store.
So today, challenge yourself to expect more from your time in church and with others. Expect to be changed, healed, delivered, and loved. Expect God to do a miracle.
Let us pray:
Heavenly Father, as we gather in Your presence today at church, ignite our hearts with high expectations. Help us to seek more than routine; let us anticipate a genuine encounter with You that transforms and renews. May we come not just to receive, but to engage fully with Your word and Your spirit. In Jesus' name, Amen.
Strength at the Gate
Saturday, 6 July 2024
Good morning, ANCC Men of Honour! Today, we reflect on the story of the lame man at the Beautiful Gate from Acts 3:1-2. This devotion encourages us to recognise our weaknesses and find strength in God, while being vigilant and compassionate towards those around us.
Strength at the Gate
Saturday, 6 July 2024
Good morning, ANCC Men of Honour! Today, let's reflect on the story of the lame man at the Beautiful Gate from Acts 3:1-2 (NIV) One day Peter and John were going up to the temple at the time of prayer—at three in the afternoon. Now a man who was lame from birth was being carried to the temple gate called Beautiful, where he was put every day to beg from those going into the temple courts.
This man, his physical limitation, affected his entire being, making him dependent on others for daily activities and diminishing his sense of self-worth. Most of us can identify with this man in some way. We all have our areas of weakness that hinder us from being our best selves. Often, we try to hide these flaws and overlook the struggles of others. Yet, it is through acknowledging our weaknesses that we truly open ourselves to God's strength and healing.
This story isn't just about weakness; it's about the community and the power of God working through those around us. God positions people in our lives to aid us just as He sends us to assist others. As you go about your day, be vigilant and compassionate. Look out for those who may be struggling at their own gates and remember, you might be the very person God has chosen to uplift them.
Let us pray:
Heavenly Father, thank You for this new day and for the fellowship of the ANCC Men of Honour. Lord, grant us the courage to face our weaknesses and the compassion to assist those who struggle around us. Help us to recognise the divine appointments You set for us, and to act with kindness and strength. In Jesus' name, Amen.
Overcoming Adversity
Friday, 5 July 2024
Join us for Day 5 of our Daily Devotion for Men of Honour. Today, we explore overcoming adversity through faith. Learn how to stand firm against spiritual battles and find strength in God's unwavering protection.
Overcoming Adversity
Friday, 5 July 2024
Good morning, ANCC Men of Honour! As we start the new day, let's remember that we are constantly in a spiritual battle. The devil, like a roaring lion, seeks to devour us, targeting our self-esteem, identity, and spiritual integrity.
Are you aware that the enemy is particularly intent on undermining men of God? Just as Pharaoh once targeted the male children of the Hebrews, the devil aims his strategies at those destined to rise as leaders under God's anointing.
This hostility was first mentioned in Genesis when God declared there would be an endless conflict between the seed of the woman and the serpent. We are that seed, called to continue the victorious legacy of Christ. Remember, the devil may roam, but his defeat is assured in our lives through Christ.
Are you standing firm in your position with God? This is our protection and our victory. Stay connected to the source of life, to God Himself, and you will find strength and peace each day.
Let us pray:
Heavenly Father, we thank You for Your protection and guidance. Equip us, to stand firm against the adversary. Help us to occupy our divine calling and to remain vigilant and strong in You. May Your Spirit empower us to overcome every challenge and to lead lives that glorify Your name. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
Understanding Your Identity
Thursday, 4 July 2024
Good morning, Men of Honour! Today, let's delve into Job 33:4 and uncover the truth about our God-given identity and purpose. Allow His Spirit to guide you as you declare, "The Spirit of God has made me. The breath of God is giving me life." Reject any identity not rooted in Him and walk in the purpose He has set before you.
Understanding Your Identity
Thursday, 4 July 2024
Good morning, Men of Honour! Today is a day to remind ourselves of the fundamental truth that shapes our identity and purpose.
In Job 33:4 (NIV), we learn, "The Spirit of God has made me, and the breath of the Almighty gives me life." This verse is a reminder that our life and essence were directly given to us by God Himself. Understanding who we are cannot be separated from knowing who God is. He is our Creator, and He designed us with a unique plan and destiny in mind.
Many men wander through life battling aimlessly, feeling lost and frustrated at day’s end because they don’t recognise their true fight or their real enemy. But when you know that God is your Source and that there is an enemy opposing your eternal spirit, you can approach life with direction and determination.
Let us not allow the world to define us or dictate our paths. Our true identity and purpose are found when we look to God, allowing His Spirit to lead us. Today, declare with confidence, *The Spirit of God has made me. The breath of God is giving me life.* Reject any identity not rooted in Him.
Let us pray:
Heavenly Father, thank You for breathing life into us and for revealing our true identity through Your Spirit. Help us today to walk in the purpose You have set before us, and to fight our battles with the knowledge that You are our Source and strength. Let us not be swayed by the world’s definitions but be firmly rooted in what You have spoken over our lives. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
