Where Are You... Really?
Sunday 21 July 2024
Good morning, ANCC Men of Honour! As we start another blessed day, let's reflect on a profound question from the Bible, "Where art thou?” (Genesis 3:9). God asked Adam this not because He didn't know Adam's location but because He wanted Adam to acknowledge his own position and state of being.
Brothers, it's crucial to know where you are in your life. Are you acknowledging your responsibilities as a husband, a father, or a community member? Or are you avoiding these duties, pretending to be something you're not? It's easy to lose track and live a life out of alignment with our true responsibilities.
Take a moment to be honest with yourself about where you are. When we hide from our truths, we end up living a charade, wearing masks that keep us from genuine connection with God and others. Admitting our flaws and failures to ourselves and to God is the first step towards true worship and meaningful relationships.
Don't spend your energy envying others or questioning their paths, such thoughts only lead to isolation and bitterness. Instead, ask yourself, "Where am I at?" This question is not one of judgment but of reflection, leading to repentance, closeness with others, and genuine satisfaction in life.
Let us pray:
Heavenly Father, guide us today to face ourselves honestly. Help us to see where we truly stand and lead us in the path of righteousness for Your name's sake. May we live our lives openly and sincerely, embracing our roles and responsibilities with courage and integrity. In Jesus' name, Amen.
