The Power of His Name
Saturday 13 July 2024
Good morning, ANCC Men of Honour! As we celebrate another day, let us draw close to the power found only in the name of Jesus.
In Acts 3, Peter and John encounter a lame man at the temple. Peter, determined not to let the man's focus waver, instructs him to look intently at them. This story isn't just about the miraculous healing that follows but about focusing wholeheartedly on Jesus amidst our trials and tribulations.
Peter calls upon the name of Jesus—a name above all names, the only name that promises more than temporary relief but eternal salvation. It's a name that stands above every challenge, need, or pain we may face.
Just as Peter did, we are called not only to speak the name of Jesus but to put our faith into action. This means reaching out to help others stand, whether spiritually, emotionally, or physically. When we encounter someone in need, it's our faith, propelled by the name of Jesus, that enables us to assist them effectively.
If today finds you needing assistance, remember to place your trust not in man but in Jesus Christ. He is your strength and your healer, the One who will make you whole.
Let us pray:
Heavenly Father, thank You for the power and authority granted through Your name. Help us today to focus solely on You, to speak Your name boldly, and to act courageously as You guide us to those who need Your touch. Strengthen us to be instruments of Your healing and love. In Jesus' name, Amen.
