A 7-Day Journey of Prayer & Fasting
The Road to Resurrection
29th March 2026 - 5th April 2026
Welcome to the Journey
We are about to start a very special journey together. For the next seven days, we will step away from the noise of everyday life and walk with Jesus through Passion Week. This week is about examining our hearts, not just observing.
My prayer is that you won’t join this journey as spectators, but as participants. We will follow Jesus from the celebrations of Palm Sunday, into the crushing of Gethsemane, through the agony of the Cross, and finally into the joy and victory of Resurrection morning.

The Road to Resurrection Devotional
I do not want you to enter the next 7 days without a clear plan. That is exactly why I have created The Road to Resurrection prayer and fasting guide.
It is available for download right now at the link below. Think of this booklet as your spiritual map for Passion Week. It will guide you step by step as we follow Jesus' journey from Bethany to the empty tomb.
Inside, you will find all the daily scriptures, reflections, and specific fasting focuses we will be covering together. It is designed to give you the 'Daily Bread' you need so we can all arrive at Resurrection Sunday with clean hands, soft hearts, and renewed fire.
The Core Focus (Bios vs. Zoe)
Fasting is not punishment; it’s preparation. Our world trains us to believe that “more” is always better, but the Kingdom of God often moves through surrender, simplicity, and holy hunger. Throughout this week, we are distinguishing between two different types of life:
Bios: This is our physical life, which depends on food, sleep, and comfort. It is fragile and limited, and it is where we spend most of our energy trying to stay in control.
Zoe: This is the uncreated, eternal life of God. It is Spirit-breathed and resurrection-powered.
When your body speaks to you in hunger this week, let it be a holy signal to your spirit. We are fasting to realise that Bios is not our source, Zoe is. We are emptying ourselves to let the Holy Spirit prune our habits, mindsets, and hurts so we can bear true fruit.
Daily Devotionals
This will be updated daily starting on 29th March 2026.
Fasting
The goal of fasting is to draw nearer to God. Biblical fasting always involves eliminating distractions for a spiritual purpose; it hits the reset button on our souls and renews us from the inside out. It also enables us to celebrate the goodness and mercy of God and prepares our hearts for all the good things God desires to bring into our lives. Remember, your personal fast should present a level of challenge, but it is very important to know your body, your options, and, most importantly, to seek God in prayer and follow what the Holy Spirit leads you to do.
Types of Fasts
Complete Fast
In this type of fast, you drink only liquids, typically water with light juices as an option.
Selective Fast
This type of fast involves removing certain elements from your diet. One example of a selective fast is the Daniel Fast, during which you remove meat, sweets, and bread from your diet and consume water and juice for fluids and fruits and vegetables for food.
Partial Fast
This fast, sometimes called the “Jewish Fast,” involves abstaining from eating any food in the morning and afternoon. This can correlate with specific times of the day, such as 6:00 am to 3:00 pm, or with sunup to sundown.
Soul Fast
This fast is a great option if you do not have much experience fasting, have health issues that prevent you from fasting, or if you wish to refocus certain areas of your life that are out of balance. For example, you might choose to stop using social media or watching television for the duration of the fast, then carefully reintroduce that element into your life in healthy doses at the conclusion of the fast.
