Stepping into Your Divine Purpose

 Monday, 8 July 2024

Good morning, ANCC Men of Honour! Welcome to this blessed Monday. As we reflect on last week’s water baptism, let us draw inspiration from Matthew 3:17 (NIV), which recounts the baptism of Jesus by John the Baptist. This profound event was a pivotal moment where Jesus embraced His divine mission, and the Bible says, "And a voice from heaven said, “This is my Son, whom I love; with Him I am well pleased.”

Just as Jesus entered these waters purposefully, those of you who were baptised yesterday followed in His footsteps. You didn't just step into water; you stepped into a renewed commitment to God’s purpose for your life. When Jesus stood in the Jordan, it was the exact place God wanted Him. The heavens opened, the Spirit descended, and God’s voice affirmed His identity and mission.

This powerful imagery reminds us that being in the right place, as ordained by God, brings divine affirmation and guidance.

Let us pray:

Heavenly Father, thank You for the sacred act of baptism and the powerful example of Your Son, Jesus. As we reflect on our commitment and the steps taken in baptism, guide us into the paths You have prepared for us. May our lives always be pleasing to You, as we walk in faith and obedience. In Jesus' name, Amen.
