Day 22 and Beyond: A Life of Seeking God
Our 21 days of prayer and fasting are complete. So what now? Seeking God is a decision we make every day. Here are some simple ways to keep going for the rest of the year.
Day 21: Keep Seeking God First
Twenty-one days ago we set out to seek God first. On the final day of our fast we thank Him for what He has done and decide to keep seeking Him every day.
Day 20: Show Me Your Glory
Moses could have asked God for many things. He asked to see His glory. On Day 20 we find out how God answered, and we pray for the earth to be filled with the knowledge of Him.
Day 19: You Will Receive Power
Jesus told His disciples to wait until they were clothed with power. On Day 19 we look at the promise of the Holy Spirit and ask the Father to fill us with His presence and power.
Day 18: Do What Is Right, Love Mercy
God cares deeply about those who are treated unjustly, and He calls His people to care too. On Day 18 we see where to begin when the need feels overwhelming: on our knees.
Day 17: Revive Us Again
God gave Solomon a promise with four conditions and three answers. On Day 17 we humble ourselves, seek His face and pray for revival in our church, our community and our land.
Day 16: Life to the Full for Our Town
Jesus came to give life in all its fullness, and He sends His church to carry that life into the place where it lives. On Day 16 we pray and speak blessing over our town.
Day 15: Accept One Another
Jesus welcomed people long before they changed, and He never pretended that sin did not matter. On Day 15 we learn to love people we disagree with, as God has loved us.
Day 14: A Dwelling Place for God
Jesus did few miracles in His home town because of their unbelief. On Day 14 we ask God to make us a people He can dwell among, and we pray for our neighbours by name.
Day 13: Watching for the Vision
Without a word from God, people lose their way. On Day 13 we climb the watchtower with Habakkuk, wait to hear what God will say and learn to write the vision down.
Day 12: New Wine, New Wineskins
Jesus promised rivers of living water to everyone who is thirsty. On Day 12 we ask for a fresh outpouring of the Holy Spirit, and for hearts made new and ready to hold what He pours in.
Day 11: He Heals the Broken-Hearted
A phone call, a diagnosis or a letter can turn life upside down. On Day 11 we bring our wounds and our broken relationships to the God who heals hearts and turns them towards each other.
Day 10: Serving the Lord Together
The Christian life was never meant to be lived alone. On Day 10 we hear Joshua’s great decision and ask God who He wants us to share life, prayer and worship with.
Day 9: What Must I Do to Be Saved?
At midnight in a prison in Philippi, a desperate man asked the most important question of all. On Day 9 we hear the answer, and we pray by name for people who need Jesus.
Day 8: Fruit That the Spirit Grows
The Holy Spirit lives in every believer, and He grows something in us. On Day 8 we look at the fruit of the Spirit, see what real love looks like and ask where we need to grow.
Day 7: Steps Directed by the Lord
God’s plan for your life is better than your own. On Day 7 we learn from Joseph, David, Joshua and Mary how to find that plan and how to hold on when it is tested.
Day 6: Filled with Hope and Power
Tired already? On Day 6 we come to the God of hope, who fills empty people with joy and peace, and we learn that purpose flows from staying joined to Jesus.
Day 5: The Eyes of Your Heart
It is possible to know all the right words and still be going through the motions. On Day 5 we pray Paul’s prayer for wisdom and revelation, and ask God to open the eyes of our hearts.
Day 4: One Thing I Ask
What we set our hearts on shapes everything else. On Day 4 we meet Ezra, a scribe who decided to study God’s Word, do it and teach it, and we set our own hearts on God.
Day 3: Worship with Your Whole Heart
Worship is far more than singing. It is the response of a whole heart to who God is. On Day 3 we turn our eyes to Him and write our own prayer of worship.
