Strip It Down

But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.
— Matthew 6:33 (ESV)

We have made knowing God too complicated.

Programmes, podcasts, conferences, plans, strategies, and ministries can all be useful. But sometimes the simplicity of walking with Jesus gets buried under religious activity. We become busy for God, but distant from God.

Jesus calls us back to something simple and powerful: seek first the kingdom of God.

Not when life slows down. Not when the diary clears. Not after the emails, worries, and responsibilities. First. Before everything else, we seek the King.

So today, strip it down.

Strip away the need to impress. Strip away the pressure to perform. Strip away the noise, the comparison, and the spiritual clutter. You do not need to come to God with clever words or perfect prayers. You can come as a child, open, honest, and hungry for Him.

Sometimes the deepest prayer is not long or impressive. It is simply, “Lord, I just want You.”

If you have been feeling overwhelmed, this is your invitation to return to the simplicity of Jesus. Sit with Him. Read a short passage. Say His name. Be still. Listen. You do not need to qualify for His presence. You only need to come.

God is not asking for a performance. He is inviting you into a relationship.

Today, close some tabs. Mute some noise. Take a deep breath. Come empty-handed to the King. The simple life with Jesus is not boring. It is beautiful, freeing, and full of life.

Prayer: Father, forgive me for making my walk with You more complicated than it needs to be. I am tired of performing and pretending. I come to You as a child, with an open heart. Teach me again the simple joy of knowing You, loving You, and walking with You. In Jesus’ name, amen.
