A Reward from Heaven
Psalm 127:3 (NLT) - "Children are a gift from the Lord; they are a reward from him."
In the heat of the daily grind, the laundry, the attitudes, the financial strain, the chaotic schedules, it is easy to view parenting as a burden. But Psalm 127:3 is a radical reorientation of our perspective: children are a gift and a reward. Bathsheba fought for Solomon because she knew his true value. You do not give up on a gift that comes straight from God.
When you truly believe your child is a reward from heaven, it changes how you fight for their future. Charles Spurgeon noted, "He who is the builder of the house is also the author of the family. Children are the heritage of the Lord." They are not ours to possess; they are His heritage entrusted to our stewardship. If you are exhausted today, ask the Holy Spirit to renew your vision. Look at your children not as an interruption to your life, but as a divine assignment.
Prayer:
Lord, forgive me for the days I treat my children as a bother. Give me new eyes to see them as a great gift and a special responsibility from You. Help me to love, care for, and be patient with them, knowing they are a blessing from You. In Jesus' name, Amen.
