In Hebrews 11:8-9, we find an extraordinary example of unwavering faith. Abraham, called by God, set out on a journey not knowing where it would lead. The scripture tells us:
“8 It was by faith that Abraham obeyed when God called him to leave home and go to another land that God would give him as his inheritance. He went without knowing where he was going. 9 And even when he reached the land God promised him, he lived there by faith—for he was like a foreigner, living in tents. And so did Isaac and Jacob, who inherited the same promise.”
Abraham’s journey wasn’t just a physical relocation; it was a voyage of spiritual significance. He left everything familiar; comfort, security, and his cultural identity to follow God’s call. Abraham didn’t have a roadmap, nor did he have Google Maps to dictate each turn. What he had was something more profound; a promise from God and a heart full of faith.
Like Abraham, we are often called to step out into the unknown. It might be a new job, a move to a different city, or a call to ministry that seems daunting. In these moments, fear and doubt can creep in, making us question our decisions. But remember, the essence of faith lies in stepping forward even when you can't see the entire staircase.
Living in tents as Abraham did symbolizes a transient lifestyle, always ready to move as directed by God. This tent-life is a metaphor for our lives on earth. We are just passing through, our real home is with the Lord. Living with this mindset can transform the way we handle uncertainty; it reminds us to hold loosely to worldly things and cling tightly to eternal promises.
Hebrews 11 doesn’t just tell us about Abraham’s journey; it speaks of a man who "was looking forward to the city with foundations, whose architect and builder is God." Abraham’s eyes were fixed not on what he was leaving behind but on what was ahead. This forward-looking faith is what we are called to embody.

It is God’s pleasure to respond to His children’s requests, not out of obligation, but from a place of overflowing love.

4 But before Isaiah had left the middle courtyard, this message came to him from the Lord: 5 “Go back to Hezekiah, the leader of my people. 10 “The shadow always moves forward,” Hezekiah replied, “so that would be easy. Make it go ten steps backward instead.” 11 So Isaiah the prophet asked the Lord to do this, and he caused the shadow to move ten steps backward on the sundial of Ahaz!

"Don't be afraid, Mary, for you have found favour with God!" These words were not just a greeting; they were a declaration of hope and divine selection.
When we think of favour, many of us imagine immediate blessings and smooth paths. However, Mary's favour led her through paths of misunderstanding, scrutiny, and immense responsibility. Favour in the kingdom of God often comes wrapped in challenges that foster growth and deepen our faith. For us, this signifies that Faith realises God's promises. It shows that what God declares, He fulfils. Your season of rain will come. It will bring refreshment, renewal, and growth.
