The verse for today
Matthew 6:33 (NIV) 33 But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.
Today’s verse is a very powerful and life-changing verse that reminds us of the importance of seeking God's kingdom first in our lives. This verse serves as a gentle nudge to prioritise God above all else and to trust that He will provide for us in every way.
Many of us struggle with worry and fear, especially when it comes to our needs and wants. We often find ourselves preoccupied with the future, trying to plan and prepare for every eventuality. But this verse reminds us that when we put God first, all of our needs will be met. We don't have to worry about anything because God knows what we need before we even ask Him.
So what does it mean to seek God's kingdom first? To seek God's kingdom first is to put Him at the center of your life and to make Him your number one priority. This means spending time in prayer, reading your Bible, and putting your faith into action. It means trusting that God has a plan for your life and that He will take care of you every step of the way.
When we seek God's kingdom first, we are putting Him in charge of our lives. We are saying that we believe in His sovereignty and that we trust in His love and care for us. This kind of trust brings peace and comfort, especially in times of uncertainty and fear. We can rest assured that God will provide for us and that He will never leave us or forsake us.
One of the benefits of seeking God's kingdom first is that it helps us to keep our priorities in order. When we put God first, everything else falls into place. We are able to see our circumstances from a different perspective and to understand that everything happens for a reason. We can also find joy and purpose in the things that we do, knowing that we are doing them for God's glory.
Another benefit of seeking God's kingdom first is that it brings us closer to God. When we make Him our number one priority, we are able to experience His love and presence in a deeper way. We can also hear His voice more clearly and feel His guidance in our lives. This kind of intimacy with God is priceless and is something that everyone should strive for.
So today, let's make it our mission to seek God's kingdom first. Let's spend time in prayer, read our Bibles, and put our faith into action. Let's trust that God has a plan for our lives and that He will take care of us every step of the way. Let's live our lives for His glory and for His kingdom.
Today’s verse is a powerful reminder of the importance of seeking God's kingdom first in our lives. When we put God first, everything else falls into place and we are able to experience His love and provision in a deeper way. So let's make it our mission to seek God's kingdom first and to trust in His love and care for us.
Let us pray:
Heavenly Father, thank you for reminding us to seek Your kingdom first. Help us to trust in Your provision and to put our faith into action. Give us wisdom and discernment as we go about our day and help us to live our lives for Your glory and for Your kingdom. In Jesus' name, amen.
May you be filled with His strength, His peace, and His joy today and always.
In Christ,
