Loneliness
You can feel lonely in a crowded room, in a busy family or scrolling through hundreds of friends online. Maybe you have moved to a new city or country, lost someone close, or simply feel that nobody really knows you. Loneliness is painful, and it is one of the most common struggles of our time.
From the beginning God said, “It is not good for the man to be alone” (Genesis 2:18). You were made for relationship: with God and with other people. Jesus Himself knew what it was to be deserted by His friends, so He understands how you feel.
Here are some steps to find connection:
Remember that God is with you. He has promised, “Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you” (Hebrews 13:5). Talk to Him honestly about how you feel.
Take one small step towards others. Say hello to someone at church, reply to that message, or invite a neighbour for a cup of tea.
Join a small group. A Life Group is a great place to be known, prayed for and cared for through the week.
Serve someone else. Helping on a team or checking on someone who is alone often eases our own loneliness.
Be patient. Friendships take time to grow. Keep showing up, even when it feels awkward.
God “sets the lonely in families” (Psalm 68:6). At All Nations, people from many nations have found a church family. There is a place for you here too.
