Renewing Your Mind

Rasol Manouchehri Ardakani - 13 September 2025

Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.
— Romans 12:2 (NIV)

Becoming a new creation in Christ is not just about changing our outward behaviour, it starts deep inside, with the way we think. Paul tells us in Romans 12:2 that we are transformed by the renewing of our minds.

The world has its own patterns—ways of thinking and living that often pull us away from God. If we are not intentional, we can find ourselves conforming to those patterns without even realising it. But God invites us to let His Word reshape our thoughts so that we can live in alignment with His truth.

I have seen in my own life how my thinking affects my reactions, my mood, and my choices. When my thoughts are filled with fear, doubt, or negativity, it shows in my words and actions. But when I meditate on Scripture and let God’s promises fill my mind, I find peace and strength even in difficult situations.

Renewing your mind is not a one-time event, it is a daily discipline. It means making time for God’s Word, letting it challenge old ways of thinking, and replacing lies with truth. It might be as simple as memorising one verse and speaking it over your day, or pausing in the middle of a busy schedule to remind yourself of God’s faithfulness.

The more we fill our minds with God’s truth, the less room there is for the enemy’s lies. And as our thinking changes, so does our living. We begin to make choices that reflect who we are in Christ, not who we used to be.

Today, ask God to help you think His thoughts. Let His Word be the lens through which you see yourself, your circumstances, and the people around you. When your mind is renewed, your life will be transformed.

Prayer of the Day:
Lord, thank You for giving me Your Word. Help me to fill my mind with Your truth every day. Change the way I think so I can live in a way that honours You. Amen.
