A New Day

Rasol Manouchehri Ardakani - 12 September 2025

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!
— 2 Corinthians 5:17 (NIV)

There is something special about a new day. The sun rises, the air feels fresh, and there is a sense of possibility in the air. Spiritually, God offers us that same kind of new beginning when we put our faith in Jesus. Paul reminds us in 2 Corinthians 5:17 that when we are in Christ, we are a new creation. The old is gone, the new has come.

That means your past no longer defines you. Your mistakes, failures, and hurts do not get to have the final word over your life. You have been given a brand-new identity in Christ. You are loved, forgiven, and accepted.

Of course, that does not mean we never remember the past. But we do not have to let it control us. Old habits, old wounds, and old ways of thinking can lose their grip when we allow God to renew our minds with His Word.

I have found that how I think has a big impact on how I live. If I constantly dwell on what went wrong yesterday, I will miss the good things God wants to do today. That is why it is so important to align our thoughts with God’s truth. You may not know every detail of His plan for your life right now, but you can choose to believe this: He loves you, He is for you, and whatever He does will be good.

There will be days when progress feels slow. You may wonder if you are really changing. That is when Philippians 1:6 is such a comfort. It says that the God who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion. He has not brought you this far to leave you.

So today, take a deep breath and remember that you are not the same person you used to be. Jesus has made you new. The old is gone. A fresh, new life is here. Live in the joy of that truth, and watch how God fills your days with hope and purpose.

Prayer of the Day:
Lord, thank You that in Christ I am a new creation. Help me to leave the past behind and step into each day with faith and expectation. Renew my mind with Your Word and fill me with joy in the life You have given me. Amen.
