DEVOTIONAL:
MAIN SCRIPTURE: Acts 16:26 (NLT) 26 Suddenly, there was a massive earthquake, and the prison was shaken to its foundations. All the doors immediately flew open, and the chains of every prisoner fell off!
In our most challenging moments, we can feel trapped by invisible chains. Chains made of anxiety, scepticism, or fear. During these times, it's all too simple to overlook the fact that God's amazing power is only a prayer away. Paul and Silas were literally shackled in prison, yet they chose to worship God. What happened next was nothing short of a miracle. An earthquake shook the prison, the doors burst open, and every chain was broken.
Notice that the miracle followed their act of faith and worship. It's a powerful testament to what faith combined with action can achieve. Similarly, your faith isn't just a passive belief; it's an active trust in God that should push you into action.
It's easy to say we have faith, but it's another thing entirely to put that faith into action. Paul and Silas didn't just believe in God's power; they acted on it through worship, despite their circumstances. This tells us that our faith, when accompanied by faithful action, makes room for God to move mightily in our lives.
PRAYER:
Heavenly Father, I pray that You increase my faith and courage so that I may witness Your incredible miracles. Help me to act on my faith, even when I'm faced with challenges that seem impossible. In Jesus' name, Amen.
ACTION STEP:
Today, identify an area in your life where you have been holding back due to fear or even uncertainty. Take a step of faith in that direction. Just like Paul and Silas, your faithful action could be the key that unlocks a miraculous breakthrough in your life.
