Out of Control? God Is Still on the Throne

Have you ever felt like life is spinning out of control? Things are not going the way you planned. The schedule fell apart. The health news was worse than expected. The relationship ended suddenly. And now you do not know what to do next. You feel like you are in freefall, and there is no parachute.

I have been there. I know how unsettling that feeling is. The tight chest. The racing thoughts. The desperate prayer of "God, what is happening?" Let me speak directly to your heart today. Just because things feel out of control does not mean they actually are. Your feelings are not the final truth. God's sovereignty is.

Psalm 115 verse 3 says something simple but powerful. "Our God is in heaven; He does whatever pleases Him." That means no situation is outside His authority. No accident catches Him off guard. No enemy moves without His permission. He is not surprised by your struggle. He is not panicking in the control room. He is seated on the throne, and He has not lost control of your life.

Here is the truth you need to hold onto today. When plans fall apart, it does not mean God has failed. When things do not go your way, it does not mean God is not listening. Often, it means He is redirecting you. He is closing a door you wanted to walk through because He sees danger on the other side. He is delaying an answer because He is working on something better. He is allowing turbulence because He is teaching you to trust Him instead of your own understanding.

You may not understand it now. That is okay. You do not need to understand everything. You just need to trust the One who does. God sees the full picture. You see only a tiny corner. He sees the beginning, the middle, and the end. And He is working everything according to His purpose. Not according to your timetable. According to His perfect, loving, wise purpose.

Think about a pilot flying through turbulence. The plane shakes. The seatbelt sign comes on. The passengers grip their armrests and hold their breath. Some of them might even think the plane is going down. But here is the thing. The pilot is still in complete control. The instruments are working. The flight path is steady. The turbulence is uncomfortable, but it is not dangerous. The pilot has flown through this before. And a few minutes later, the plane breaks through into smooth air.

That is you. You are the passenger. God is the pilot. The turbulence feels frightening, but He has never lost control. He knows exactly what He is doing. And He will get you safely to your destination.

So today, choose to trust God instead of trying to control everything yourself. Let go of the need to understand every detail. Let go of the fear that things are falling apart. Surrender the wheel. Give Him your plans, your worries, and your what ifs. He is big enough to handle them.

Let us pray. Father, I surrender control to You. Even when I do not understand what is happening, I trust that You are in control of my life. Calm my anxious heart and help me rest in Your sovereignty. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Take a deep breath, church. The pilot knows what He is doing.
