Hang Tough and Keep Going

“Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.”
Most battles are won or lost in the mind before anything happens on the outside. Galatians 6:9 reminds us not to lose heart or give up because, in God’s perfect timing, we will see the harvest of the good we have sown, if we do not quit.
“Losing heart” and “fainting” often happen long before we take any action. They happen in our thoughts. We start to believe nothing will change, that it is too hard, or that we cannot make it. This is exactly why the enemy tries to attack our minds first. If he can convince us to give up mentally, it is only a matter of time before we give up physically or spiritually.
Think about Jesus. Right after His baptism and the empowering of the Holy Spirit, He was led into the wilderness to be tested by the devil (Luke 4:1–13). He faced hunger, isolation, and temptation, but He never gave in to defeat in His mind. He did not grumble about how hard it was, complain about the lack of comfort, or speak negatively about what lay ahead. He faced each test with the truth of God’s Word and came out victorious.
I sometimes picture what it would have looked like if Jesus had spent His ministry focusing on how hard the road to the cross would be. It is unthinkable. He chose instead to draw strength from His Father and keep His mission in sight. That is the same strength available to us today through the Holy Spirit.
When you face challenges, you can choose “victory thinking” instead of “give-up thinking.” Victory thinking says, “God is with me. He will help me through this. I will not quit.” Give-up thinking focuses on the problem and magnifies the difficulty. Victory thinking focuses on the God who is greater than the problem.
You may be in a season where the road feels long and your prayers feel unanswered. Hold on. Do not lose heart. Keep doing what is right. Keep speaking life. Keep trusting God’s timing. The harvest will come if you do not give up.
Prayer of the Day:
Lord, help me to keep my mind fixed on victory, not defeat. Give me the strength to hold on, trust You, and keep doing good until I see the harvest You have promised. Amen.
