Main Scripture:
Exodus 33:13-14 (NIV) 13 If you are pleased with me, teach me your ways so I may know you and continue to find favour with you. Remember that this nation is your people.” 14 The Lord replied, “My Presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.”
As we read this passage, we see that Moses is asking God to show him His way. He wants to know God intimately and find favour in His sight. And God's response to Moses is beautiful: "My Presence shall go with you, and I will give you rest."
What a beautiful promise! When we seek God and trust in Him, He promises to be with us and give us rest. In other words, we don't have to carry the weight of the world on our shoulders. We don't have to try to do everything in our own strength. We can rest in God and trust that He will guide us on the right path.
But how do we find rest in God? It starts with acknowledging Him and trusting Him. We need to take a step back from the busyness of life and spend time in His presence. This can look different for everyone. For some, it might mean going for a walk in nature and marvelling at God's creation. For others, it might mean spending time in prayer or worship. Whatever it looks like for you, make it a priority to spend time in God's presence.
When we spend time in God's presence, we're reminded of His goodness, faithfulness, and love. We're reminded that we're not alone and that God is with us every step of the way. And as we trust in Him, we can expect to see His hand moving in our lives. We can step forward with confidence, knowing that He will keep us on the right path, and watching His hand of favour move on our behalf is truly one of life's greatest delights.
So today, take a moment to receive God's rest and favour by faith. Pray to Him, asking Him to show you His way and to give you rest. And then trust that He will be with you every step of the way.
