Day 16: God In Human Form
Philippians 2:5-8 (NIV) 5 “In your relationships with one another, have the same mindset as Christ Jesus: 6 Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be used to his own advantage; 7 rather, he made himself nothing by taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness. 8 And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to death – even death on a cross.
DEVOTIONAL:
Today, let's dive into the deep love God has for us and the amazing story of Jesus Christ, as told in Philippians 2:5-8. We’re going to see what these verses really mean for us.
Philippians tells us about Jesus, who, even though He was God, didn't hold on to that but chose to become like a servant. He became a human, just like us. This wasn't just something to think about, it was real. Jesus lived it.
So, what does this mean for us? Jesus’ journey from being God to a human isn't just a story from the past, but an example for us. He showed us real humility – not just talking about it, but actually doing it. He chose to help others, not just to be helped, to give, not just take, and to love everyone, even when it was tough.
Thinking about Jesus being human helps us feel closer to God. He knows what we go through – being hungry, tired, or even really sad. Jesus went through all of that. This should make us feel comforted and closer to God.
Jesus’ obedience, even to dying, shows us how much God loves us. His death wasn’t a loss but a big win over sin and death. His coming back to life means we can be forgiven and have a life that never ends. This is the good news – a message full of hope.
Let’s also think about how we can be like Jesus in our own lives. Can we put aside our pride and help others? Being like Jesus means being kind and helping others, even when it's not easy.
In today’s world, where everyone seems to be looking out for themselves, Jesus’ life is a challenge for us. It’s about putting others first, loving without limits, and seeing being humble as a good thing, not something weak. It’s about showing others the same kindness Jesus shows us.
PRAYER:
Father God, thank You for sending Your Son, Jesus Christ who, though He was King, offered to come down here on earth, and die on the cross for the remission of our sins. Thank You Lord for Your unselfish sacrifice for us. Help us not to take Your sacrifice for granted in our lives. In Your precious name I pray, Amen.

Today, think about Jesus being both God and human. Think about how His life and words can change how you deal with people and problems. Let Jesus’ kindness and humility guide you in your daily life.
