DEVOTIONAL:

MAIN SCRIPTURE: Philippians 2:3-4 (NLT) 3 Don’t be selfish; don’t try to impress others. Be humble, thinking of others as better than yourselves. 4 Don’t look out only for your own interests, but take an interest in others, too.

Being a follower of Jesus Christ isn't simply a journey of personal growth or a spiritual checklist for our own well-being. It's so much more than that. It's an invitation to live a life of courageous compassion. This means going beyond our comfort zones to genuinely care for others, even when it's inconvenient or challenging for us.

The Bible teaches us to put the needs of others before our own, reflecting the selfless love Jesus showed during His time on Earth. In doing so, we become His hands and feet, reaching out to a world in need. We are not just called to show compassion during the highs and lows of life, but to make it a consistent, daily practice. Remember, it's the small acts of kindness that often make the biggest impact.

PRAYER:

Heavenly Father, help me to express the selfless love that Your Son Jesus Christ showed me. I ask for the courage to step outside of my own needs and desires to truly see the people around me. Grant me the wisdom to recognise the needs of others and the strength to act compassionately. May my actions reflect Your immeasurable love and serve as a beacon of hope to those in need. In Jesus' name, Amen.

ACTION STEP:

Today, commit to making compassion a way of life, not just a one-time act. Reach out to someone who needs a touch of God's love. It could be as simple as an encouraging text message, maybe a helping hand, or a listening ear. Take that first step today and make it a daily habit.

Let’s make courageous compassion a habit, so that we may be living examples of Christ's love in this world.
