Finding Peace in Unity
The verse for today is from Ephesians 2:15 (NIV) by setting aside in his flesh the law with its commands and regulations. His purpose was to create in himself one new humanity out of the two, thus making peace.
The world we live in today is one of division and strife. We see it all around us – in politics, in social issues, in our workplaces, and even in our own families. It can be easy to feel overwhelmed by the conflicts and tensions that seem to surround us at every turn. But as Christians, we have a powerful source of hope and peace in the message of the Gospel.
Today’s verse reminds us that through the death and resurrection of Jesus, God has brought together people from all backgrounds and cultures, creating one new humanity out of the two.
This is an incredible gift that we have in Christ – the gift of unity. No matter who we are or where we come from, we are all beloved children of God, made in His image and united in His love. We are no longer defined by our differences, but by our common identity as members of the body of Christ.
It's easy to forget this truth in a world that seems so divided. We're bombarded with messages of division and conflict every day, and it can be easy to get caught up in the negativity. But as Christians, we have a responsibility to remember the gift of unity that we have been given, and to work towards peace in our own lives and in the world around us.
What does this look like in practice? It means seeking reconciliation with those we have conflict with, even when it's difficult. It means choosing to love our neighbours, even when they're different from us. It means striving to build bridges of understanding and empathy, rather than walls of fear and mistrust.
None of this is easy. It's hard work to live out the call to unity that God has given us. But the rewards are great. When we choose to pursue peace, we are reflecting the very character of God. We are living out our calling as ambassadors of Christ in a world that desperately needs to hear His message of love and reconciliation.
So today, let us take a moment to reflect on the incredible gift of unity that we have in Christ. Let us remember that despite our differences, we are all part of one new humanity in Him. And let us commit ourselves to working towards peace, both in our own lives and in the world around us.
Let Us Pray:
Heavenly Father, we thank You for the gift of unity that we have in Christ. Help us to embrace this truth and to seek peace with one another. May we always remember that we are one new humanity in You, and may our lives be a reflection of Your love and grace. Give us the strength and courage to work towards reconciliation and peace, even in the face of difficult circumstances. May Your Kingdom come, and Your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Amen.
May you be filled with His strength, His peace, and His joy today and always.
In Christ,
Pastor Ras
